Play Golf in All 50 States

There isn't a governing body for playing golf in all 50 states.

No commissioner.

No official rulebook.

No one waiting at the border to inspect your scorecard.

That's part of what makes it great.

At its simplest, play a round of golf in a state and you've added another state to your Pursuit.

But how you choose to do it is up to you.

We'd say 18 holes for it to count.

But it's your Pursuit.

We're not showing up at the turn asking for proof.

The point isn't to rush through states just to check another box. It's to experience the course, the place and whatever happens along the way.

If nine holes means something to you, we're certainly not going to argue about it.

Nope.

Play the course you want to play.

Maybe it's the highest-ranked public course in the state.

Maybe it's a $35 muni.

Maybe it's the course your buddy grew up playing.

Maybe it's somewhere you've wanted to visit for twenty years.

There isn't one correct way to build a Pursuit.

You can play as many courses as you want in every state.

But one can become your Signature Round — the course you choose to represent that state on your Pursuit.

If you eventually have a physical 50 States Pursuit Map, that's the golf ball that earns the state's spot on the wall.

Your Signature Round doesn't have to be the most expensive course, the highest-ranked course or even the round where you played your best golf.

It's simply the one you want representing that part of your story.

Make it the Signature Round on your map!

Your Pursuit isn't frozen the first time you play a state.

Keep playing.

Keep traveling.

Keep changing your mind.

Because golf gives you a reason to go somewhere you might never have gone.

A reason to call a friend.

A reason to plan the trip.

A reason to spend a few hours with your dad, your kid, your spouse or somebody you haven't seen enough lately.

Some rounds will be incredible.

Some will be terrible.

Years later, you'll probably remember both.

Getting to 50 is the goal.

Everything that happens while you're getting there is the Pursuit.

Hopefully a while.

You could attack the list as quickly as possible, but we're not sure that's the interesting part.

Five years.

Ten years.

Thirty years.

There's no deadline.

The empty states aren't failures.

They're places you haven't gotten to yet.

Of course.

This isn't a contest to see who discovered the idea first.

Add the states you've already played.

Add the courses you remember.

Add the photos and stories you still have.

Then figure out where you're going next.
